In its eighth year, event attendees and event holders were able to experience the benefits of Get Online Week again, understanding the importance of digital inclusion for people in their communities and in their day-to-day lives.

Watch this video recorded at a Get Online Week event at Cass Care Community Centre. Attendees were introduced to AI and had the chance to explore AI platforms while learning about safety, benefits and risks.

Get Online Week is the most fun event of the year.
It is where we have events all over the country that people come to learn something new about technology, so it might be just the basics like how do you use your smartphone or how do you download an app, or it could be, you know, how you use AI for business.

I was really interested in AI, but I didn’t have a chance to know about AI that much.
Today’s lesson, I was really happy the way he told us. I learnt many things.

I was trying to enable our senior members in the community to be more comfortable with, you know, using the chat GPT to take the benefit of it.
We will help them in terms of safety, being social with the community.
They are probably the audience that get the most benefit out of it.

AI or digital, it’s something we can avoid. Often, we underestimate the skills and capacity of the seniors.
So usually we take, you know, the seniors, they can’t take new technologies, but that’s not true.
Once they learn, they want to know more, and then it’s amazing to see how fast they extend the technologies.

The more they know, they want to know more, or they realise how comfortable, how convenient their life can be by using AI.
We want to make sure no one is left behind.

This campaign was possible thanks to our community partners who hosted digital skill events and to our sponsors Be Connected, nbn, Aussie Broadband and SeeWay. We would also like to thank our campaign ambassadors who helped us spread the word about digital inclusion. Lastly, a huge thank you to everyone who joined Get Online Week by attending events, learning something new or helping a loved one.

Get ready for 2026, campaign dates will be announced soon! Stay tuned
