If you have been scammed, here’s what you can do.

Stop the scammers and act fast

Protect your money: call your bank and superannuation account and let them know you have been scammed. You might want to tell them to stop any transactions.

Protect your identity: contact places that have your personal information like Services Australia and the Australian Taxation Office.

Protect your accounts: change your passwords on all your online accounts like your email and social media. Make sure to make a password that you have never used before. You can use our Creating Strong and Memorable Passwords Activity to help you make a secure password.

Report the scam to Scamwatch and the police.
