Be Connected Evaluation

This evaluation assessed the appropriateness, effectiveness and efficiency of the Be Connected program.

This report was commissioned by the Department of Social Services as part of the Australian Government’s Digital Literacy for Older Australians strategy.

The evaluation of Be Connected was led by Associate Professor Anthony McCosker and managed by Dr Roksolana Suchowerska and Dr Julie Tucker. The research team also includes Professor Christine Critchley, Dr Gordana Bruce, Jarrod Walshe, Dr Kiros Hiruy, Dr Michelle Lim and Professor Jo Barraket. Research assistance was provided by: Dr Jessamy Gleeson, Dr Milovan Savic, Dr Indigo Holcombe James and Emma Riseley. The evaluation found Be Connected has a significant impact on building the digital skills, confidence and online safety practices of older Australians. The evaluation concluded that Be Connected represents an appropriate, effective, and efficient investment in the digital inclusion of older Australians.
