This session will help learners understand the benefits and challenges of using social media during a disaster. They will learn how to access reliable information from official sources on social media, mark themselves as safe using Facebook’s Crisis Response feature, and discuss the use of social media for both sharing and retrieving information during crises. Learners will also have the opportunity to explore relevant state or territory emergency services Facebook pages and understand how to follow and engage with them.
