This guide is for Good Things’ network organisations that have been awarded a Digital Sisters Grant in 2026.

Good Things program: Digital Sisters Grant
Target audience: Migrant and Refugee women aged 18 – 50 years
Grant objective: Use grant funds to provide free digital skills support to migrant and refugee women aged 18 – 50 years in your community.
Grant term: 11 months (August 2026 – June 2027)
Number of people you need to support: minimum of 15 migrant and refugee women
What you need to do
- Nominate at least 1 Digital Mentor to participate in 1 session of virtual digital mentor training hosted by Good Things Australia. You have the option to select Digital Mentors trained from your existing Digital Sisters Grant or nominate new staff members to attend the online training session. New digital mentors should attend one of Good Things’ regular ‘Intro to Digital Mentoring’ webinar before.
- Support minimum 15 refugee and migrant women to improve their digital skills and confidence for life and work.
- Note: Network Partners who have existing learners from previous Digital Sisters grants who wish to continue their learner journey, can now roll them over into the new contract and they will count towards the contracted number of learners you are required to support. The maximum number of existing learners who can count towards your target number of learners is 50%. A minimum of 50% (at least 8 of the refugee and migrant women support) must be new learners.
- Complete the mid-term check in online form
- Ensure learners attending a digital literacy skills session complete a sign-in form
- Commit to supporting outcomes measurement and evaluation of the digital literacy program by ensuring all Digital Mentors use Good Things Australia’s digital literacy skills checker tools and all learners fill in the post survey..
- When possible, participate in virtual community of practice meetings to discuss and share information, data, and good practice
- Ensure all staff and mentors involved in delivering the Digital Sisters project have police checks or Working with Vulnerable People checks
- To ensure efficient communication, ensure your contact details in my.goodthings Network Partner website are up to date and notify Good Things Australia within two weeks of any changes to key staff involved in the Digital Sisters project
- Be prepared to share learner journeys and good news stories so that Good Things Australia can create case studies
- Upon completion of delivery, submit a final report and financial acquittal
- Have public liability insurance

Digital Mentor Trainings:
- 13 August 2026 at 2pm AEST: ‘Intro to Digital Mentoring’ for new digital mentors. Register for training here

- January 2027: Mid-term online report due

Digital Sisters grant timeline
Your digital skills support
Your organisation can design the digital skills support you provide using this grant funding and the topics you cover to meet the needs of your community.
You can choose to deliver your grant-funded support through:
- Group mentoring sessions – Support learners in a group setting. Ensure each participant has a device and guide them step by step through topics by using various activities from the Good Things website. Use practical activities to make it fun and relevant.
- One-on-one support sessions: Support individual learners in person. Guide them step by step through topics of interest by using various resources from the Good Things website. Use practical activities to make it fun and relevant.
Note: You will be required to report on your delivery model.
Top Tip: Develop a system for tracking learner progress at the start of your program.
Reporting requirements
There are three things you need to do to report on and acquit your grant.
1. Post support survey
Replacing the Digital Skills Checkers, a post support survey is required for this grant round. Access the survey here. Each completed survey counts toward your targets, so please support learners in completing them. They are also essential for showing impact and helping Good Things Australia secure future funding.
2. Midterm Check-in
In December 2026, you will receive an online reporting form to evaluate your delivery. This check-in will gather details on the number of participants supported, completed surveys, and your chosen delivery model, alongside any impact stories/quotes or photos.
3. Final grant acquittal
Acquit your Digital Sisters grant at the end of the term or once targets are met on the my.GoodThings website. Go to Manage Grants > Funding Award Requirement to access your online grant acquittal form.
The following questions need to be addressed in the acquittal:
- Upload photos showing the impact of your project
- How many women did you support during the term of the grant
- Please describe how your project was delivered. In your response outline your training delivery model, including how the training was provided, and the frequency and duration of delivery
- Please upload an itemised and costed expenditure statement outlining how the grant funds were spent
- Learner journeys and good news stories so that Good Things Australia can create chase studies
