Digital Sisters advocacy toolkit

Digital Sisters program advocacy toolkit to help us continue program funding

Australian Government funding for our Digital Sisters program is coming to an end in June 2026.

We want the Digital Sisters program to continue, so we can support even more women to build confidence and digital skills. Currently, we are supporting 55 organisations around Australia, and more than 5,000 women have already benefitted from the program.

We want this to be just the beginning.

What we are asking for

Good Things is advocating for the Digital Sisters program to be funded for a further three years, and extended to reach more women across the country.

How you can get involved

As Digital Sisters partners, your organisation can help amplify this message with decision makers, highlighting the importance of this program and the impact it has had in your community.

Four ways you can help:

  1. Sharing stories of the impact of Digital Sisters programs in your communications eg social media
  2. Inviting Federal Government MPs and Senators and other local VIPs to a Digital Sisters session so they can see the impact of this program first hand
  3. Liking and sharing Good Things social media posts about Digital Sisters and the digital gender divide.
  4. Raising the profile of your Digital Sisters work by entering your mentors and program in local and sector awards.

Remember: Tag @GoodThingsAustralia in your social media posts so we can amplify your work.

Submit your program for awards

Awards are a great way to raise the profile of the impact of your Digital Sisters program, and recognise the efforts of your team (volunteers and staff) and community. Finalists and winners are often listed publicly and featured in communications such as the local news or sector newsletters.

Consider nominating your Digital Sisters program, mentors and learners in local area, sector or state based awards. There are awards for volunteers and the community sector in most states and territories, for example Volunteering Awards or Neighbourhood Houses Victoria Awards.

Make sure to tell the story of your program in the application, explaining why they digital divide is a problem for women in your community and how your work helped people to feel safer and more confident online.
