Reading small text or typing on a keyboard can sometimes feel tricky, but you do not have to do it alone.

AI tools can act like a friendly helper on your phone or computer. They can read things out loud, turn your spoken words into text, or make images and words much bigger and clearer.

How to do it

Choose an AI platform that you like to use such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude. Follow the steps below for the method you like.

Get AI to read things out loud

  1. Copy the text you want to hear.
  2. Paste it into the message box, ask the AI to summarise it for you, then select the speaker icon when it responds.

Get AI to type what you say

  1. Select the microphone icon on your keyboard or inside the app.
  2. Speak clearly into your phone and watch the words appear on the screen, then select the send arrow.

Get AI to make things bigger

  1. Select the plus (+), paperclip, or image icon.
  2. Pick a saved photo and tap send.
  3. Ask the AI to “Make the text in this picture larger” or “Tell me exactly what is in this picture”.

Tip: When using AI, make sure you do not share any private information.
