Artificial intelligence is a handy tool, but it is definitely not always right. If we just trust it without checking, we can easily share wrong facts or make bad decisions. AI can get things wrong in three main ways.

- Hallucinations: This happens when the AI confidently makes things up, like inventing fake facts, broken web links, or fake quotes, and presents them as the truth.
- Outdated information: AI learns from information collected in the past. This means it might give you old facts, past laws, or expired timetables without realising things have changed today.
- Biased Output: Because AI learns from things written by humans, it can easily pick up and repeat our unfair thoughts or opinions.
