Learn some ways you may want to use the Family Cards in your community!

What are the Family Cards?

The Family Cards are designed for parents with kids to connect and talk about online safety.

  • Made for every age: The cards are split into age groups, 3-5 years old, 5-12 years old and 12-18 years old.
  • Additional cards: The ‘General’ cards include tips and guides, and ‘Learn more’ includes information on basic internet topics.
  • Questions and activities: The back of the cards include questions to ask and activities to get the conversation started! The activities are collaborative, so parents and kids and work together to make their family plan.
  • Resources: The cards also include links to reliable websites for more information.

How to use the Family Cards

Here are some ways you may want to use the Family Cards in your community!

Host a game day

Pair your learners up and give them the ‘Where to find the right games and apps‘ card in the ‘General‘ section. Ask them to use the websites on the card to find and play a game that is suitable for their kids to play. Some of your learners may need some support, so be ready to help!

Online family plan session

Support your learners with making their online family plan! Pair your learners up and choose an age group and topic. For example, 5-8 year olds on screen time. Ask your learners to work together to make their online family plan on screen time. Prompt them to use the additional resources on the card to learn more.
