Exercise: Review AI vs. Human-Written Text
Objective: Understand the differences between text created by AI and text written by a human.

Step 1: Read the two samples of text.

Step 2: Answer the following questions to evaluate the texts.

  1. Tone:
    • Sample A: How would you describe the tone? (e.g., formal, technical, neutral)

  2. Content:
    • Sample A: What is the main purpose of the text? (e.g., providing information, describing a concept)
    • Sample B: What is the main purpose of the text? (e.g., engaging the reader, sharing personal thoughts)
  3. Language:
    • Sample A: How does the language used in this text compare to typical academic or technical writing?
    • Sample B: How does the language used in this text compare to everyday conversation?
  4. Style:
    • Sample A: Does the text include specific examples or personal anecdotes?
    • Sample B: Does the text include specific examples or personal anecdotes?

Step 3: Discuss your answers with a partner or in a group.

  • What are the key differences in style and tone?
  • How might understanding these differences help in your own writing or reading comprehension?
