Building Digital Skills
We’re excited to announce that our main Be Connected grant has changed to help our Network support more people in their community to learn digital skills.
Our Building Digital Skills grant has been updated to increase learning time for existing Be Connected learners while still supporting new people to improve their digital skills. Specialist Building Digital Skills grants have also been expanded to provide extra support to a more diverse range of older Australians at-risk of digital exclusion:
- Older people in remote and outer regional areas
- Older Australians with disabilities
- Older Indigenous Australians
- Older Australians in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities
Up to $20,000 of funding for community organisations is now available per grant. Full details on eligibility and requirements are in our grant guidelines. Read more about Building Digital Skills grants here.
Applications close 30 July 2021, with additional rounds planned to be available monthly.
Capacity Building grant
Applications for the $50,000 Be Connected Capacity Building grant are now open. This grant supports organisations with funding, support, and train-the-trainer resources created by Good Things Foundation to upskill digital mentors. Research has shown skilled digital mentors to be critical in supporting older Australians to improve their digital skills, so now may be a great time for your organisation to get involved in this program.
This round has 25 places available for organisations to start their 12 month program in September 2021. Each Capacity Builder will be required to train and support 100 Digital Mentors (50 in outer regional, remote and very remote areas). Applications close 30 July 2021.
